This week I did some research to think about how to improve the environmental deliverables and the app's content. In other words, the content of the deliverables is listed in the materials matrix. I also improved the visuals of the posters, refined the top-level architecture to focus on the functionality of the map, and created wireframe sketches for the app.

I started by looking for and marking areas on the high-injury map I had found and wanted to focus on previous research and areas suggested by mid-point review feedback. I found Market Street and the Tenderloin to be the areas most needing improvement because they contain a lot of high-injury streets. And Market Street is more concentrated, which validates my rationale for designing posters for it last week. In addition, I think the content of the deliverables in my mid-point review material matrix still needs to be pushed forward, so I wrote some thoughts on the environment deliverables and app functions in the presentation file.

Then I improved the design of the posters based on feedback from the instructor, with three posters designed for pedestrians, drivers, and all road users, and incorporated graphics from the visual system into the posters to add visual interest. Additionally, I added the QR code of the app to promote it. Next, I removed some of the top-level architecture to highlight the functionality of the map and created wireframe sketches for the app. A problem I encountered when converting the task flow into wireframes was that I didn't know what the UI looked like on each screen and what content was needed, so I found some examples for reference. I think this may be due to a lack of experience in designing apps.
